Oats Ladoo is a healthy nutritious laddu recipe that comes together in no time. These delicious laddus are made with simply 4 base ingredients oats, cashews, cardamom powder and sweetened with maple syrup. These are the easiest, healthy festive snack to add to your festive mithai box.

Besides being a healthy festive treat, these make a delicious snack that my toddler enjoys all year round. These oats laddo are packed with protein and fiber from oats & healthy fats from cashews. Okay, there is no comparison but if you crave kaju katli and are watching your sugar intake, this recipe makes a great alternative.

The best part about this recipe is it’s so easy to make, you can literally make these laddus in under 30 minutes. Plus, all you need is 4 base ingredients (that might be already sitting in your pantry) and a high speed blender / food processor.

I believe in balance, hence I have jazzed up these ladoos with some melted white chocolate. Topped the ladoos with edible silver leaf, dried rose petals & powdered pistachios.

Ingredients & Substitutes To Make Oats Ladoo:

Oats: I have used gluten free old fashioned rolled oats in this recipe. Alternatively, you can use quick / instant oats. I generally buy sprouted rolled oats from Costco as they are easy to digest and are slightly sweeter in taste.

Cashews: I have used raw cashews in this recipe. I don’t recommend subsisting cashews as they give a rich creamy texture to these laddus. If you want a different recipe for healthy ladoos, try Oat-walnut or Strawberry Ladoo recipe. But a combination of 1 cup of any nuts will work.

Maple Syrup: I have used maple syrup to sweeten the ladoos. Addition of maple syrup helps bind everything together. Alternatively, you can use honey or agave syrup.

Cardamom Powder: Addition of cardamom powder gives a distinct piney and fruity flavor to this recipe.

How To Make Oats Ladoo:

In a high speed blender add the cooled toasted oats and raw cashews. Blend until the oats and cashews turn into a fine powder. It takes about 15-20 seconds to powder the mixture. If you don’t have a high speed blender, the powder will be coarse in texture which is just as fine. Next add maple syrup and cardamom powder blend until mixture comes together. Scoop out the mixture using an ice-cream spoon and roll into bite size ladoos.

How to store Oats Laddu:

These ladoos store pretty well. I prefer a softer texture so store them in an airtight container upto 1 week. You can even store them in a fridge up to two weeks & in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Oats Cashew Ladoo

These delicious and nutritious oats cashew ladoos are a perfectly healthy, easy and a festive snack. These ladoos are made with oats, cashews and sweetened with maple syrup.

Ingredients

For Oat Cashew Ladoo

  • 1 cup Raw Cashews
  • 1/2 cup Oats
  • 4 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder

For toppings

  • 1/4 cup White Chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp Coconut Oil
  • 2 tsp Fine Pistachio Powder
  • 2 tsp Edible Rose Petals
  • Edible Silver Leaf

Method

Instructions for Oats Ladoo

  • 1)

    Add old fashioned oats to a dry skillet, toast them over a medium low heat. Stir often, toast the oats for 5 minutes or until they are fragrant and turn light golden brown in color. Remove from the heat, transfer the oats to a plate and let the oats cool down completely.

  • 2)

    In a high speed blender add oats and cashews pulsing until you get a fine powder.

  • 3)

    Add maple syrup, cardamom powder and process until the mixture holds shape. The mixture should be semi firm and easy to ball up with your hands.

  • 4)

    Transfer the mixture to a bowl, mix it using a spatula or your hand until its well combined and forms a dough.

  • 5)

    To make the ladoos scoop the mixture with 1tbsp cookie scoop and shape it into bite size ladoos using your palms.

  • 6)

    You can serve these ladoos like this or you can jazz them up by adding the toppings mentioned below. If you are adding the topping palce the ladoo in a plate lined with parchment paper.

Adding The Toppings

  • 1)

    Firstly decorate the ladoos with edible silver leaf.

  • 2)

    Melt 1/4 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 tsp coconut oil in a microwave. Melt the chocolate in 20 seconds increments, stirring in between each time. It takes about 60 seconds for the chocolate to completely melt.

  • 3)

    Use a rubber spatula to carefully transfer the warm chocolate to a large plastic zip bag or you can use chocolate melt decorating bags.

  • 4)

    Snip a small corner of the plastic bag or decorating bag. Use both hands to hold the decorating bag with snipped part facing downwards over the ladoos. Squeeze the bag gently using back and forth motion to quickly drizzle the chocolate over the ladoos.

  • 5)

    Decorate the ladoos with edible rose petals & powdered pistachios.

  • 6)

    Store the Oat Cashew Ladoos in air tight container. They keep well at room temperature up to a week. You can store them in the refrigerator up to two weeks.

Notes

This recipe is very forgiving, you can substitute the oats with cashews, almonds, pistachios, walnuts and pecans or nixed nuts. The directions are the same. Add toasted nuts to a blender to form a grainy flour.

You can add cinnamon powder or nutmeg powder instead of cardamom powder. Use anywhere between 1/4 tsp – 1tsp based on how strong you love flavors.

You can substitute maple syrup with honey or agave.

If the mixture turns out to be too dry, add a splash of milk. Similarly, if your mixture turns out to be too  sticky, add in some oat flour or powdered cashews.

    Hi Niketa,
    Every year during Diwali I wait for your quick and easy festive recipes. This year you posted one of my favourite ingredient recipe…cashew oats ladoo. I followed your recipe and made one batch. I did not have maple syrup so I used honey instead. It was for my son’s diwali potluck in playgroup. And the tiffin box came empty. He loved those ladoos.😊😊
    It has minimum ingredients and the best part is it’s no cook. I get so less time to prepare during Diwali to try out new recipes, but your no cook approach makes my life super easy plus I get a delicious taste too. Further more it’s healthy as it doesn’t have dairy and sugar👍
    All in one..it’s super healthy version of Kaju kalli with delicious taste and Toddler approved👍 I recommend it’s a must try recipe. Now whenever I crave for kaju katli, your cashew oats ladoo will always be there in my kitchen❤️
