Christmas is incomplete without visiting Xmas markets & grabbing a massive mug of mulled wine. Certainly all this didn’t happen this year thanks to COVID. To lift up our spirits we stirred up some non-alcoholic mulled wine to bring in the Christmas eve. Traditionally mulled wine also known as Gluehwein is made by mixing red wine and orange juice but since I am breastfeeding we made a non-alcoholic version using organic grape & cranberry juices, spiced with cinnamon, cloves & star anise, sweetened up with a drizzle of honey. While this was warming up on a low flame my home…

I can quite literally have mushrooms at any point of the day and in any form. I love stuffed mushrooms but somehow don’t have them quite often. I offered to help my sister clean her house over the weekend and as we were cleaning the refrigerator and found a box of Ricotta cheese and mushrooms staring wide at me. I couldn’t control my temptation and ended up cooking this easy recipe to satisfy my mushroom cravings. A simple creamy Ricotta mixture stuffed into any choice of your mushroom, topped with freshly cracked pepper, earthy spinach leaves and baked to perfection…

I love colours on my plate. If you have noticed mostly the colour of the garnishing on savoury items is always green in colour. I generally garnish my food with a generous amount of cilantro, basil or parsley. I was clearing my fridge and coincidently had only a few greens left on the rack which led me to come up with this green pulav recipe. I have more or less used the same recipe as the traditional vegetable pulav but added green veggies too. So without further ado let’s cook this one pot meal.

I like to celebrate all the occasions be it small or big. Booze is synonym for celebration😊, so to welcome back my husband from his long business trip I whipped up this fluffy, creamy and light textured mousse. We are all about booze in food, especially a little amount adds so much flavour to the desserts. This mousse makes a perfect after dinner dessert. This recipe is quite simple and comes together within no time. Recipe is inspired by Tastemade.com

Currently I am enjoying my breakfast smoothie phase. This is the easiest, delicious and the most healthiest on the go breakfast option. This blueberry banana smoothie tastes divine!!😋 The consistency of the smoothie is thick because of the banana and that purple colour from blueberries is what your eyes need on a grey day. It’s been over a week that I am having this smoothie for my breakfast. I generally add coconut milk to the smoothie, but feel free to use your variety here: almond milk, whole milk, skimmed milk. As I do not like frozen fruits, I make my…

Dhokla is an irresistible savory cake from Gujrat, India. This nutritious treat is made using chickpea flour which also makes it vegan and gluten free! This is the most easiest and healthiest appetizer ever. I have almost lost the count of the number of times I have steamed some Dhokla. I have tried my hand at serveral Dhokla recipes but this recipe borrowed from a friend is the simplest of all and yields spongy and soft texture. Dhokla makes a great appetizer recipe and tea time snack which can be made ahead of time. I have made this Dhokla in…

I am following low carbs high fat diet since 14 days and have lost 7 pounds by eating more fats, moderate protein and low carbs. This is the only diet that I am enjoying and actually look forward to my meals. I am a kind of person who needs variations in my meals to break the monotony. I cannot keep on eating stir fry, eggs, fish all the time. I needed chicken, so I came up with this zesty lemon pepper chicken recipe. I used halal chicken tights as they are high in fats which suited my dietary requirements. You…

Tomato Saar is a sweet & tangy Indian soup recipe made using tomatoes and coconut milk. This warming, comforting and tasty soup makes a perfect side with rice. Tomato Saar is nothing but a popular Maharashtrian version of tomato soup. This mildly spiced soup is traditionally served with steamed rice or Masale Bhaat. Maharashtrian thali is incomplete without this soup. I have grown up having Saar bhaat as my favorite meal and still do. Today I am sharing with you my family recipe to this tomato coconut soup, which is a prefect balance of tanginess from the tomatoes and the…
