Ingredients & Substitutes To Make Quick Overnight Oats

Oat Flour: This is the key ingredient to make these instant creamy oats. I prefer to make this recipe with oat flour for the creamy pudding like texture. Alternatively, you can use quick oats for this recipe.

Chia Seeds: Not only are these packed with nutrients, but they also help to thicken the instant oats.

Flavorings : I have used thandai powder to flavor these oats. Alternatively you can add milk masala or cardamom powder to flavor these oats.

Maple Syrup: to sweeten the oats. You can also use honey, agave or sugar.

Milk: I have used whole milk in this recipe for creamy, thick texture. Alternatively, you can use plant based milk of your choice.

Hot Water: Hot water is the main liquid ingredient that pulls it all together. Hot Water helps oat flour & chia seeds to absorb moisture quickly and become creamy, thick in texture.

Almond Flour or Meal : You can use cashew powder if you like

Notes

I have used oat flour for the extra creamy texture, alternatively you can quick oats for this instant recipe. If you are leaving these oats overnight they might turn more thicker or mushier, in that case use rolled oats.

If you are using quick oats make sure to opt for plain version as it doesn’t have added sugar to it.

If you don’t have Thandai powder just use cardamom powder or doodh masala to flavor the oats. You can also use cinnamon powder or nutmeg to flavor the oats.

This is the most important tip use right ratio of liquid to oats. I have used two parts of liquid and one part oats.
