Badam Truffles is a delicious no cook sweet treat that you can serve at festive gatherings. These Indian inspired truffles are super easy to make and are a great edible gift.

What is Badam Truffles?

Badam translates as “almond” and gulab means “rose” hence the name Badam Gulab Truffles. These bite sized truffles are made with just 7 ingredients that are easily available – almond flour, condensed milk, rose syrup, rose essence, white chocolate and rose petals. These truffles make a great Indian Fusion Truffle recipe to serve at festive gatherings like Diwali, Ganpati or any holiday parties.

Every year around Diwali I like to make unique edible gifts for my friends and neighbors. Last year, I made these truffles and they were a big hit! My friends literally came back asking for more. Hence, I thought of sharing this easy truffle recipe with you guys. Along with these truffles, I generally add khajur barfi, oats ladoo, White chocolate bark to my mithai box.

I love this truffle recipe as it doesn’t involve cooking and can be made ahead of time. What I love the most about these truffles is the blush pink almond rose mixture dipped in contrasting white chocolate, it looks absolutely gorgeous and tempting. If you are wondering do they taste overtly sweet, trust me they don’t as I have added condensed milk only to bind the truffles together, coated them lightly with white chocolate. Feel free to use dark or semi sweet chocolate they will still taste delicious!!

Ingredients To Make Badam Gulab Truffles:

These Almond Truffles require just 7 ingredients

  • Almond Flour: I have used Almond Flour from Costco. Make sure you buy almond flour and not almond meal. Almond flour is made from blanched almonds, its finely ground resulting in a smooth cream color flour. Whereas, Almond Meal is made from unblanched almond and is coarse in texture and dark brown in color.
  • Rose Syrup & Rose Essence: Rose Syrup aka Roohafza is the main ingredients that gives a lovely pink color and flavor to these truffles. I have also added 1 tsp rose essence to intensify the rose flavor.
  • Cardamom Powder: I have added cardamom powder to give these truffles a subtle floral flavor.
  • Condensed Milk: Addition of sweetened condensed milk adds sweetness and binds the almond truffles.
  • White Chocolate : I have used white chocolate to coat these truffles. Make sure to use good quality baking chocolate. If you don’t like white chocolate feel free to use dark or semi sweet chocolate, the truffles will still taste delicious.
  • Rose Petals: I have used edible rose petals to garnish the truffles. Alternatively, you can use edible silver leaf to decorate the truffles.

How To Make Truffles :

  • In a mixing  bowl, add almond flour, condensed milk, rose syrup, rose essence, cardamom powder. Combine well using a spatula or your hands until the ingredients come together to form a dough.
  • To make the truffles, scoop the mixture with 1tbsp cookie scoop and shape into bite sized truffles using your palms.
  • You can serve these truffles like this or you can jazz them up by adding edible rose and edible silver leaf. If you want to coat the truffles with chocolate, refrigerate the almond truffles for 20 minutes to allow them to firm up.
  • Melt white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave. Melt the chocolate in 20 seconds increments, stirring in between each time. It takes about 40-50 seconds for the chocolate to melt.
  • On the side get a plate ready and line it with parchment paper to place the chocolate dipped truffles. Take the firm almond truffles out of the refrigerator and drop in the melted chocolate, use a fork to roll each truffle to coat it well with chocolate. Transfer to the plate lined with parchment paper using two forks to lift it.
  • Garnish the truffles with edible rose petals & edible silver leaf. Place the plate in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes so that the chocolate sets. Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 1 month.

Storage:

Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 1 month. This recipe makes 8 truffles and make a perfect edible gift for your friends and family.

Variations :

This recipe is very forgiving and you can customize the flavors based on your liking

To make saffron cardamom truffles you can add 5-10 saffron strands dissolved in water and cardamom powder instead of rose syrup. Even instant coffee shot would taste great to make Coffee Truffles.

You can use dark chocolate to coat the truffles instead of white chocolate.
