One of my favorite solo meal option is this spicy braised tofu along with some rice. I love this recipe for it offers spicy and savory flavors all at once , makes a perfect weeknight meal which can be prepared in no time.

Spicy Braised Tofu
Ingredients
- 1 pack Cauldron firm Tofu
- 4-5 Garlic cloves
- 1 White onion
- 2-3 Stalks of spring onion
- 2 tsp oil
- Salt, to taste
For Sauce:
- 1 tbsp Sriracha Sauce
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce, You can use coconut aminos instead for a Gluten free version
- 1 tsp Sugar, I used coconut sugar
- 1 tsp Chilli flakes
- 1 tsp Sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Chilli powder
Directions:

Chop tofu into thin squares, in a skillet shallow fry them for 5-7 minutes or until crisp on both the sides. Transfer the fried tofu on a plate and set aside.

In a bowl mix 1/2 cup water, soy sauce, salt to taste , sriracha sauce, sugar chilli flakes, chilli powder.

Heat oil in a pan sauté chopped onion, garlic, spring onions until golden brown. Add sauce to the vegetables and simmer until it thickens.

Add tofu to the sauce, garish with sesame seeds and spring onions.
